The Andaman & Nicobar Islands are a paradisiacal archipelago made up of more than 500 islands...

...and this destination is where we at Wild Sea Nomads chose to begin the journey for all future GT and BIG GAME anglers.

The Andaman Islands are located in the Andaman Sea in the eastern Indian Ocean. Most of the Andaman Islands are part of Indian territory, except for Cocos and Preparis Islands, which are part of the Yangon region of Myanmar.

The Andaman Islands form a very little-explored archipelago, famous for the preservation of its marine life. The different species of fish and their quantity attract the attention of any angler, as does the exuberant natural beauty that "fills the eyes" with every cast made towards the shallow coral reefs that surround the white sandy beaches.

It wasn't by chance!

We handpicked Andaman as the number 1 destination for all anglers who want to be part of this exciting world of big game surface fishing!

Andaman is the perfect place not only for surface fishing but also for bottom fishing (jigging).

Itinerary

Departing from Guarulhos International Airport in São Paulo, with a final destination of India, we can make connections in several countries, including:

– Via Europe: France, England, Germany, and Italy;

– Via the Middle East: United Arab Emirates and Qatar.

The most recommended final destination in Indian territory is the city of Chennai, in the south of the country.

Not only from Chennai, but also from other cities in India, we will have another two-hour domestic flight after international landing.

Super simple and with a very robust air network, Indian airlines offer several flight options at different times to accommodate international arrivals. This flight is on a standard aircraft, no small planes.

We can consider it similar to a flight to Fernando de Noronha departing from the Brazilian coast.

Well...

...having completed all the international and domestic logistics in Indian airspace, welcome to PORT BLAIR, the capital of Andaman. Time to relax and have a cold beer looking at the sea, thinking about what the next few days will bring. The first two days are free to rest, adjust to the time zone, and get your fishing gear ready. Exploring Port Blair a bit by walking through the bustling streets in a Tuk Tuk is also a great idea and a must-do experience!

Rested, gear adjusted, LET'S GO FISHING!

It will be 7 full and intense days of pure adrenaline in the Bay of Bengal.

The first few days will involve departing from and returning to Port Blair, where at the end of each day we will rest in our cozy Guest House.

On the remaining days, we will embark on unique expeditions to the far south of the Andaman Islands towards the remote Little Andaman Island, where we will stay for 3 nights.

We will explore as much as we can throughout the entire period! Everything will depend on sea and wind conditions, plus a good analysis by our guides of the currents and tides in the days leading up to the fishing trips.

For those returning to the GT paradise for the second time, we suggest exploring North Andaman, which is increasingly becoming our favorite destination for TOPWATER fishing.

Note: Check prices and availability for fishing trips in NORTH ANDAMAN. Exclusive itinerary with limited spaces!

Accommodations &
Vessels

In Port Blair, we will be staying in a comfortable apartment that we call GUEST HOUSE.

Two double bedrooms and one triple bedroom, all en-suite with air conditioning, hot showers, and high-standard cleaning.

Kitchen and dining room to accommodate fishermen during breakfasts and dinners. Super spacious balcony with sea views, for storing gear and celebrating with a cold beer at the end of intense fishing days.

In Little Andaman, we will be staying in a simple guesthouse near the local village. Because it is a remote location, simplicity is increased but comfort remains! Four double bedrooms, all en-suite, with air conditioning and hot water.

Living room between the bedrooms for dinners and breakfasts.

Regarding boats, we have 3 CENTER CONSOLES in the ideal sizes and layouts for TOPWATER and JIGGING style fishermen.

One of them is 32 feet long, with a pair of 150hp Suzuki engines each and capacity for 3 fishermen + 1 guide.

Two of them are 37 feet long, with a pair of 225hp engines each and capacity for 4 fishermen + 1 guide.

True fishing machines, fully equipped, safe and providing all the comfort and safety to the fisherman!

Gear

// Fishing for GTs and surface lures

- Shimano Stella and Daiwa Saltiga rods, sizes 14000 and 18000, equipped with 100 and 130 lb lines;

- Nylon leaders from 150 to 240 lb;

- Rods with a casting capacity of at least 100 grams up to 280 grams, ranging from 7'6'' to 8'5'';

- Treble hooks sizes 5, 6, and 7 (BKK size) zero bar and hooks sizes 9, 11, and 13 (BKK size) zero bar; - Split rings starting with at least 250 lbs of power going up to 1000 lbs. Don't forget a swivel with a split ring for easy lure changes and large pliers compatible with opening these split rings;

- Stickbaits, poppers, and diving poppers starting at a minimum of 100 grams up to 240 grams;

Important note: The Andaman Sea is a location inhabited by large Giant Trevally at depths of 30, 40, and 50 meters!

For these locations, lure size makes all the difference. Large poppers worked by everyone on the boat at the same time really "call" the large schooling fish for extraordinary surface attacks. In these locations, the larger the popper and its mouth, the more effective it is at "lifting" large fish.

/ Light jigging fishing:

- Shimano Stellani or Daiwa Saltiguinha lures in sizes 5000 and 6000 that hold up to 300 meters of PE 2 or PE 3 line;

- Fluorocarbon shock leaders (not nylon) of 60 pounds; - Rods capable of handling jigs up to 120 grams; - Hooks sizes 2 and 3 (Shout brand) zero bar;

- Jigs in various colors weighing up to 100 grams.

Medium Jigging:

- Shimano Stella and Daiwa Saltiga medium sizes, i.e., 8000 and 10000, that hold 300 meters of PE 4 or PE5 line;

- Fluorocarbon shock leaders (not nylon) and 80 lbs;

- Rods capable of handling jigs from 180 to 300 grams;

- Hooks sizes 5, 6, and 7 zero bar, respecting the size of the SHOUT brand;

Jigs in various colors between 200 and 300 grams. Note: Prefer silver jigs.

EXTREME jigging for large doggies:
- Shimnao Stella and Daiwa Saltiga rods in large sizes, 14000 and 20000, that hold AT LEAST 400 meters of PE 6 line;

Note: Prefer PE 6 lines with a line strength greater than 90 pounds. PE 8 lines will impair the jigs' performance.

- Fluorocarbon shock leaders (not nylon) starting at a minimum of 100 pounds up to 120 pounds;

- Rods capable of working jigs over 300 grams;

- Hooks sizes 7, 8, and 9 (zero bar) respecting the SHOUT brand size;

- Jigs of various colors between 220 and 400 grams and long and short lengths.

Comment: Andaman is also home to large doggies! We always have action on the "first jig runs during jigging."

We suggest that at least two members of each boat be equipped with 20000 size reels and "go down" with this equipment on the first "runs." Large doggies are usually the first to attack at these times.

Smaller reels, at these times, "don't turn the fish's head/mouth upwards."

Slow jigging:

- Shimano Ocea, Daiwa Saltiga and Studio Ocean Mark Blue Safari model reels, which hold 400 meters of PE 2 to PE3 line;

- Fluorocarbon shock leaders (not nylon) between 40 and 60 pounds;

- Rods capable of working jigs between 250 and 400 grams;

- Assorted hooks for adjustments with the type of jig;

- Jigs in various colors, weighing between 300 and 450 grams, and in long and short lengths.
