5 days of fishing
The vast fishing territory of Central America still unexplored by Brazilian anglers!
Heading a little further northwest of Panama, in the neighboring country, we find the perfect place to begin expeditions with the same Panamanian fishing styles.
In coastal fishing with light-to-medium tackle targeting Roosters and Snappers, and moving a bit farther offshore, we may encounter huge schools of large tuna where the pound test of the gear cannot be anticipated. We must always be prepared with heavy rods, reels, lines, and leaders, as the chance of hooking a monster is always high.
In coastal fishing, we will also focus on jigging. Most of the time, with light-to-medium tackle, we will target the grouper family (such as dusky and gag groupers), as well as the countless other species often caught with this style of fishing, like amberjack, blue jack, snappers, among others.
Itinerary
Departing from a reasonable number of Brazilian capitals (São Paulo, Brasília, Florianópolis), Copa Airlines flights will always be the best option to land in San José, the capital of Costa Rica.
Unfortunately, there are still no direct flights; all of them stop in Panama, and in 99% of cases, a plane change is required. Therefore, if some group members wish, it is possible to spend a few days in the Panamanian capital by paying a little extra.
Our recommendation is to travel directly from Brazil to San José, where the Wild Sea Nomads team will be waiting outside the airport to continue the journey to the lodge. The transfer takes about 4 hours by car or minibus.
Upon arrival at the lodge, we will adjust all the fishing gear so that the next day we can start with a hearty breakfast and head out to sea in search of the giants.
There will be 5 full days of thrilling fishing in Costa Rican waters!
At the end of the fifth day of fishing, reels will be washed, rods packed in tubes, and everything stored in the luggage so that, the next morning, we begin the return trip to San José and head back to our homes in Brazil.
